Regular readers might notice that the theme of this blog has been altered today. It wisnae me! My blogroll is absent, too. Now peculiarly, changing the theme back and editing the blogroll, and tweaking some bits, was something I intended to do, this very night, having been using another, to rule out the possibility that the original theme had somehow become corrupted last October, which was one suggestion I had been given, when trawling for help. Again readers will know all about that. So at the weekend, having had the same problems again, with the second theme, it seemed sensible to revert, since I am now using another machine, and didn’t appear to be having the serious but intermittent problem, that was evident previously. (This all having been detailed in previous postings.) I have to say, it’s really quite difficult to take ownership, and keep trying to prepare for things going wrong, as Andrew suggested, ( I keep picking his brains when they have already gone wrong.) and then things like this happen.
What you are suggesting here Marlyn is that someone has access to the administration of your blog. My advice is change your password, and see if any other alterations happen without your input. If they do, then please let James know, as what you describe is a significant breach of his security, which he will need to know about.
I began to question myself…Had I actually done what I had thought about? But I didn’t edit the blogroll. I intended to go back to the corporate theme and add to the blogroll not remove bits and to have it showing in the sidebar. Just hadn’t had time. Been through 3 machines and histories looking for clues.
Say Hi! and all mail regarding the blog says it comes from her , though it might have AB in front if it is a posting from you. Since I had changed the password when it was originally set up, she wouldn’t be able to alter anything eh? It was an email from Mags that first alerted me to the spam. and that came on my A&B account. I’ll be in touch and ask. She would have told me if she was wanting to have things changed. Ignorance and innocence? in my case, are not easy bedfellows.
Anyway, changed the password again, as you suggest and will monitor carefully. The admin email address is your neighbour at the next desk
