The recent windfall.

We had 5 new Promethean boards installed today. I spent some time showing how to operate, raise and lower etc. I already had done the CPD on calibration etc. So they were ready.  And within 5 minutes of the installation engineers leaving,  4 were in use and the fifth had been described to me as ‘ that monstrosity that has been put in my room’  Tell you anything? 20% of our teachers….???  Mmmm…?

    or 80% of your teachers.
    Half empty or half full;-)

Seriously I am surprised that you got such a positive response, many teachers just fell that a whiteboard is one more thing to learn.

It’s the drip feed thing John. Do you not get such support from your staff? I think some of them go along with the notions to please me so that I’ll be there when they need me for other things. `My cup is always half full. Actually to be truthful, it’s a glass. The teacher whose reports I got back last week sent me a half case of wine, and another with a problem took time to chill a bottle in the staffroom fridge, for me going home after sorting out her problem. so we could read quite a bit into that, but mostly they just have my coffee ready in the morning, or take in my lines for me. I really celebrate those who have taken anything forward, as we do with the children, so why not the staff? Eh?

    Sorry Marlyn,
I think we are at cross purposes, I though you were complaining about the 20% not celebrating the 80%. My mistake.

I work in one of the most supportive environment imaginable.
Mind you I’ve not manage half a case yet although I’ve dredged a few reports from dead disks in the past. I must mention your example in the staffroom;-)

I wasn’t really complaining, speculating, more about how many like that there still are.
Though I was highlighting the ‘horse and water’ or is it ‘gifts and horses mouths’ syndrome. :-)
